Victoria MacLennan appointed Co-Chair of Digital and Technology Advocacy group – NZRise

NZRise the digital and technology advocacy group for the New Zealand owned sector has appointed Victoria MacLennan, Managing Director OptimalBI, as new Co-Chair. Victoria replaces Paul Ramsay, founding NZRise co-chair and director of IT firm, Equinox, after a four year service.

Well-known in New Zealand’s business community as a strong cheerleader for the business and IT sector, Victoria was a natural choice from the nominee group and was elected into the role at the organisation’s annual AGM held last week.

“The opportunities and challenges facing our industry right now are both abundant and complex. Supporting NZ owned businesses reach their potential in both the domestic and export markets is key for NZ Inc, our economy and ecosystem. I am thrilled for the opportunity to be working with our fantastic community and helping contribute to it’s success” Victoria comments.

MacLennan’s appointment is supported and strengthened by a number of new NZRise Board and Officer Roles which include the Neil Butler, Managing Director of large IT firm Optimation and startup founder Clint van Marrewijk Managing Director of Wellington based ThunderMaps, elected Treasurer replacing Victoria in that role.

 

Co-Founding NZRise Co-Chair, Don Christie thanked Paul for his significant contribution especially in the area of Government Procurement and his work towards creating a level playing-field for NZ owned businesses. Equally Don is delighted to welcome Victoria, Clint, Neil and others to their respective roles.
